Green Kites International Association (GKIA) is a youth-led, global non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, education, and overall well-being of underprivileged children in Vietnam’s most remote and underserved regions.

At Green Kites, our commitment is simple: children come first. Every project begins with asking, “What do the children need?”
Green Kites doesn’t just “donate things” — we listen and respond to real needs. All our projects have one thing in common: they are practical, chosen through on-site observations and conversations with staff, and guided by our understanding of each school/centre’s daily operations.
That’s why we design pragmatic, low-cost solutions that directly improve children’s lives — from rainwater systems that keep school toilets clean, to hygiene kits and dental and health education that improve overall well-being and reduce the risk of disease, to STEM workshops that spark curiosity and confidence.
That’s also why we deliver simple but vital items to disability centres and orphanages. These items rarely appear on standard donation lists. For teenage girls with disabilities, that means adult-sized nappies to help them manage their periods with dignity. For children with autism, it means touch-and-feel books with extra-large letters so they can engage their senses and learn in ways that work for them.

In July 2025, we addressed one of the least glamorous yet most urgent aspects of water access: flushing school toilets at Sin Cheng Primary School in Lào Cai. In this mountainous region, water scarcity is a constant challenge, driven by steep terrain, deforestation, and fragile infrastructure. In such conditions, toilet water is often the first to be sacrificed. At the school, toilets did not flush, sinks were absent, handwashing was impossible, and the stench was overwhelming.
Recognising that most households relied on rainwater but lacked guttering systems, we designed a simple, low-cost rooftop rainwater harvesting system tailored to local materials and terrain. We installed gutters, water tanks, and sinks. To further improve hygiene, we planted insect-repellent bushes, introduced handwashing education through songs and activities, and guided students in making natural soap from local herbs.
This holistic approach — uniting engineering, environmental design, and community education — transformed a neglected sanitation problem into a sustainable solution. Fifty students and twelves staff members directly benefited from this initiative.
Help support our work to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Vietnam.

At Green Kites, every initiative begins with a simple goal: to change children’s lives for the better.
Now is the time to act — not only to meet the urgent needs of today’s children, but to build the foundations for their brighter tomorrow. With your support, we can open doors to education, protect their health, and inspire hope where it is needed most. Together, we can give every child the opportunity to thrive.
